What is Email Marketing?

Email marketing is, as the name suggests, the use of email in marketing communications.
I am a firm believer in the business strategy that uses multiple points of contact with a prospective client. Email is definitely one that is easy to create and relatively inexpensive to run. True there are some administrative costs and some technical choices.
These are all fairly easy to work through, what service will do everything you want it to do and what is easy for your prospective clients to use?
